The Namekagon River Bridge on US 63 in the Washburn County town of Spring Brook between Spooner and Hayward.
Overview
Built in 1966, the Namekagon River Bridge on US 63 between Spooner and Hayward is reaching the end of its service life. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to:
- Remove the existing structure and replace it with a new bridge.
- Install wing walls.
- Replace the pavement and aggregate shoulders approaching the structure.
- Place new pavement markings.
Schedule
Construction currently is scheduled for 2027.
Traffic Impacts
During construction:
- US 63 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter lane closures controlled by temporary traffic signals or flagging operations.
