Location
The Sand Creek Bridge is located on WIS 108 south of the village of Melrose in the town of Melrose in Jackson County.
Overview
The existing bridge is showing signs of deterioration. To address this, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to:
- Replace the concrete deck.
- Replace the pavement on both sides of the structure.
- Replace the bridge railing and approach guardrail.
Schedule
Construction is currently scheduled for 2027.
- Construction could occur as early as 2026 if funding becomes available.
Traffic Impacts
During construction, WIS 108 will be closed to through traffic.
- Through traffic will be detoured via WIS 71, WIS 162 and WIS 16.
- Local traffic will be maintained from the south or north side of the bridge.
