WIS 100 Oak Creek Resurfacing and Bridge Rehabilitation- Milwaukee County

Location

WIS 100 from Shepard Avenue to WIS 32, and the bridge along WIS 100 eastbound between Nicholson Road and Pennsylvania Avenue in Milwaukee County.

Overview

WIS 100 is experiencing pavement deterioration as expected with the roadway's age. Due to the present condition of this corridor, WisDOT is proposing to remove and replace the top two inches of asphalt pavement.

Additionally, the WIS 100 eastbound bridge between Nicholson Road and Pennsylvania Avenue over the Union Pacific Railroad is experiencing bridge deck deterioration. WisDOT is proposing to re-deck the current structure to provide an improved crossing over the railroad and extend the life of the structure. Construction of both projects is currently planned for 2024.

Resurfacing Project Improvements:

  • 2-inch mill and overlay
  • Nicholson Road intersection signal improvements

Bridge Rehabilitation Project Improvements:

  • Bridge deck replacement
  • Bridge girder painting
  • Drainage improvements
  • Guardrail replacement
  • Bridge abutment repair
  • Slope paving

Schedule

The bridge deck replacement and pavement resurfacing projects are anticipated to take place in 2024. The bridge deck replacement will likely begin first in early spring 2024 with the resurface occurring once the bridge is substantially complete. The construction of both projects is expected to be completed within the 2024 construction season.
