WIS 38 Intersections at 4-Mile Road and 5-Mile Road - Racine County

Location

Overview

The purpose of the proposed project is to address the high rate and severity of crashes on WIS 38 at the intersections of 4-Mile Road and 5-Mile Road in Racine County. Both intersections are included in the top five percent of the most severe crash sites in the state.

WIS 38 Proposed Improvements:

  • In order to address the severity of crashes that are being experienced at the intersections, WisDOT is proposing to build single-lane roundabouts at 4-Mile Road and 5-Mile Road
  • Add side paths and ramps in all four quadrants of the intersection and curb ramps in the islands to accommodate bicycle traffic

WisDOT is hosting a Public Involvement Meeting on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 5-7pm, at the Caledonia Village Hall located at 5043 Chester Lane, Racine, to discuss the proposed improvements. (** Masks are required to be worn inside the building, regardless of vaccination status **)
