Overview
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing to resurface 4.6 miles of WIS 89 in Walworth County, from WIS 11 in the Town of Darian to County A in the Town of Richmond. The purpose of the proposed highway improvement project is to address the deteriorating pavement conditions, substandard and non-compliant guardrails, and culvert repairs and replacements.
Proposed Improvements include:
- Remove 3.5-inches of asphalt and resurface with 3.5-inches to 4-inches new asphalt
- Asphalt base patching
- Performing cross culvert repairs and replacements
- Guardrail will be replaced throughout the project limits
- Updated signing and pavement marking throughout the project limits
Traffic impacts
Potential impacts to traffic during construction are being evaluated.
Schedule
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2026.
