Vehicle fees

A variety of fees are collected by the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to help offset operation costs and support the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) budget. Fee-based information is provided via the following categories:

If you received a letter or postcard saying there are fees needing to be paid, use ePay online service.

DMV’s online services have no additional service charge when using ACH payment, making this type of payment the most economical for the customer. A convenience fee may apply for credit card payment. Debit cards will be processed as credit. DMV customer service centers accept cash, checks, debit cards and the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

Please make checks payable to "Registration Fee Trust" (do not mail cash).
