eMV Public FAQs - Owner details

Should I update my address before using eMV Public?

Yes. Use the free Change your residence address online application. You will have an opportunity to add a shipping address within the eMV Public application, if you wish to have your products mailed to a different location other than your primary residence.

What is a shipping address?

A shipping address is defined as a "special mailing" address that allows a customer to have their DMV products (title, registration, plates, etc.) mailed somewhere other than their primary residence. Customers may wish to list a different shipping address for reasons such as:

  • using a PO Box
  • the vehicle is being used by a member of the family who is enrolled in the military and stationed out of state
  • a child using the vehicle at a college campus in a different area of Wisconsin, etc.

Can I enter a special mailing or shipping address as part of my application?

The eMV Public application allows you to enter a shipping (special mailing) address to have the title, license plates, Certificate of Registration and/or stickers mailed to location other than your primary residence address.

Why doesn’t the co-owner address display?

The products issued, (title, license plates, registration, etc.) as part of the eMV Public application are mailed to the primary owner. You may edit your choice of who is listed as the primary owner by using the back button within the eMV Public application or use the edit button on the confirmation screen.
