Location
This project on US 12 begins just south of the I-94 overpass and continues to WIS 25, all in the Dunn County city of Menomonie.
Overview
The existing pavement on US 12 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing:
- Removing a portion of the existing pavement and placing new asphalt pavement over the roadway.
- Upgrading sidewalk curb ramps to Americans With Disabilities Act standards.
- Replacing pavement markings.

- It now will be constructed concurrently with a separate project on US 12 at the WIS 25/Pine Avenue East intersection to avoid multiple construction seasons on US 12. More information on that project can be found here.
Traffic Impacts
During construction, US 12 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter single-lane closures controlled by flagging, along with shoulder closures. In addition:
- Access to properties in the work zone will be maintained.
- Bicycle access will be maintained at all times on existing travel lanes on US 12 and side roads.
