Location
The WIS 13 bridge over the Sand River northeast of the unincorporated community of Cornucopia in Bayfield County.
Overview
Built in 1956, the bridge is showing signs of deterioration. To address that, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to:
- Replace the expansion joints at both ends of the bridge deck.
- Clean and paint the steel girder bearings at both bridge abutments.
- Make repairs to the concrete surface at both abutments and the concrete pavement on both sides of the structure and along the south edge of the concrete deck.
- Install pavement markings.
Traffic Impacts
During construction, WIS 13 will remain open to a single lane of traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals.
