WIS 169 from WIS 13 in the city of Mellen to the Ashland/Iron County line.

Overv​​iew

The pavement on this segment of WIS 169 is showing signs of deterioration. The proposed project will:

  • Remove a portion of the existing pavement and place new asphalt pavement on WIS 169 and side road intersections.
  • Clean culverts and ditches here needed.
  • Replace some ​culverts and place new ones.
  • Repair an eroding ditch.
  • Add centerline rumble strips.
  • Adjust guardrail.
  • Enhance gravel shoulders.
  • Place pavement marking.

​Construction currently is scheduled for 2025.​

Traffic Impa​​cts

During construction:

  • WIS 169 will remain open to a single lane of traffic, except for a one-week closure, so the railroad can upgrade a crossing. The railroad and contractor will determine the detour.​
