I-43 Rehabilitation (Brown St. to Capitol Dr.) Public Involvement

Project Summary

Since WisDOT hosted its second public involvement meeting in spring 2022, project staff have attended several stakeholder meetings and participated in neighborhood and community events to discuss the project.

Previous Public Involvement Meetings

Public Involvement Meeting #2

WisDOT hosted its second public involvement meeting on March 10, 2022, where the project team virtually presented updated design materials and answered questions from the public. The online meeting was made available via a call-in number, Microsoft Teams, and broadcasted on YouTube Live to help give more opportunity for public feedback. Materials shared at the time of this meeting are posted below.

A previous project alternative showed a potential merge transition lane near the North Avenue curve. That potential merge transition lane has since been removed from the design of this project. Removing the merge transition lane eliminates the need and opportunity for a noise barrier study. Noise barriers will no longer be considered for this project.

Public Involvement Meeting #1

WisDOT hosted an in-person, open house style public involvement meeting on September 15, 2021 at Carver Park in Milwaukee to discuss the project's proposed improvements and pending alternatives. Materials and exhibits shared at the time of this meeting are posted below.
