It is critical that pilots stay up to date with current weather forecasting tools and weather theory knowledge. The Bureau of Aeronautics suggests reviewing several different aviation weather sources daily to know what to expect. We also encourage pilots to attend local IFR, VFR, and weather specific safety seminars, as well as online webinars. Flight service weather briefers, flight instructors and National Weather Service Forecast Offices are great resources as well.
