I-39/90/94 from US 12/18 in Madison to the US 12/WIS 16 interchange in Wisconsin Dells
Project overview
- The study corridor is located between US 12/18 in Madison and US 12/WIS 16 in Wisconsin Dells. The study also includes I-39 from where it splits from I-90/94 to Levee Road near Portage. The study corridor is about 67 miles long and travels through Dane, Columbia, Sauk and Juneau counties.
WisDOT will identified project needs and evaluated a range of alternatives in an Envrionmental Impact Statement (EIS). The Final EIS and Record of Decision (ROD) was approved on December 5, 2024.
Following public hearings and approval of the Environmental Impact Statement by federal and state agencies in 2024, funding for the I-39/90/94 project was approved in the 2025-2027 Wisconsin State Budget. Project plans, including anticipated construction schedule, are pending. For questions regarding the project please contact WisDOT.
