WIS 11 Rehabilitation Project – City of Delavan - Walworth County

Location

Project Overview

WisDOT is proposing to resurface and replace the pavement along approximately 2 miles of WIS 11 in the city of Delavan, in Walworth County. The purpose of this project is to provide long-term improvements to the pavement, operation, and safety of the roadway.

Proposed Improvements from Turtle Creek Drive to Main Street and 4th Street to North Wright Street:

  • Resurface the roadway, including upgrading the pedestrian curb ramps.
  • Replace traffic signals at 7th Street.

Note: The bridge over Jackson Creek and the historic brick roadway segment from Main Street to 4th Street will not be included in this project.

Proposed Improvements from North Wright Street to Just East of Mound Road:

  • Replace the entire pavement section, including storm sewer, curb and gutter, and upgrading pedestrian curb ramps.
  • A road diet (reduction in travel lanes) is proposed in this section to reduce the roadway to 2-lanes of traffic with a two-way left turn lane in the center and add on-road bicycle accommodations. The proposed pavement width matches the existing width.
  • Sidewalk is proposed to be added to the south side of WIS 11.
  • Replace traffic signals at Wright Street.
