Tribal consultation

The tribal consultation is an opportunity for tribal leadership to meet with state and federal transportation officials to discuss their priorities and the impact of policies and programs on tribal communities. The consultation also strengthens the government-to-government relationship between WisDOT and tribal nations.

The tribal consultation is attended by leadership from WisDOT, Wisconsin's 11 federally recognized tribes and liaisons from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Representatives from the Bureau of Indian Affairs may also attend.
